I Made Myself An Album: Twitter Transcript

February 14, 2015

2015 Bistro Award winners Stearns Matthews, Marissa Mulder, Eric Comstock and other cabaret artists chat about their albums — how to choose material, how you use the recording to draw attention to yourself as a live performer, studio album vs. live album, etc.

Marissa Mulder has produced two albums, “Tom…In His Words” and ” Illusions.” About “Tom…In His Words,” based on her cabaret show about the music of Tom Waits, Stephen Holden wrote “Far and away the season’s best cabaret show, it is everything the genre can be but almost never is.”

Stearns Matthews’ debut album, SPARK, was released in November. “His astonishing tenor vocals capture the hopeful longing of boyhood along with the assured artistry of manhood,” Kevin Scott Hall wrote.
