Wendy Scherl started her performance career in regional theatre after graduating from Northwestern University (BA, Department of Theatre). She toured the country in featured roles in Annie, The Pajama Game, Grease, and Hair, among others. She made her cabaret debut in 1988 with a sold-out run at Danny’s Skylight Room. Following a hiatus from performing, Scherl returned to the cabaret stage in 2015 with her show, What Do You Do All Day. In the summer of 2016, she was named First Runner-up in the highly competitive Metro Star Talent Search. She then performed her critically acclaimed show New Scherl in Town, for which she received her first Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) and Broadway World nominations for Best Vocalist. In 2019, she released her critically lauded debut CD, You’ll See, on Harbinger Records. It was awarded the esteemed LaMott Friedman Award and received a Broadway World nomination for Best Independent Recording. She is currently performing The Sweetness and The Sorrow: The Songs of Marvin Hamlisch in venues throughout the country.
