Autobiographical Show (I Just Wanted You to Know)

Roberto Araujo, a versatile artist from Mexico City, has etched a significant presence across Mexico and the United States. He is known for his roles in such musicals as Rent, Guys and Dolls, Cats, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Xanadu, Les Misérables, and In the Heights. Araujo’s artistry was spotlighted with his vocal performance as the singing voice of Joseph in Dreamworks’ animated feature, Joseph: King of Dreams. Beyond his theatrical accomplishments, Araujo also works as a cabaret performer. His 2019 show, Do You Dream in Spanish, at The Green Room 42, garnered acclaim for his charismatic delivery, leading to an encore performance later that year. He received the Outstanding Featured Performer Award at the Fresh Fruit Festival. Araujo extends his artistic reach to photography and video production, showcasing his creative work in Playbill and in ANIMIZE and Beautiful magazines. As a video journalist with NY1’s On Stage team, he contributes to the channel’s arts and culture coverage.
